Our Savior

A poem by Frances Gregory Pasch

In fulfillment of the Scriptures
Jesus came to earth,
Not as a man, but as a child,
His was a humble birth.

There were no crowds to greet him,
No party nor fanfare,
Just a simple setting,
He entered unaware.

But the reason for his coming
is one that must be told…
He’s the key to our salvation,
Prophesied  from days of old.

He took on human nature
So he could bear our sin
Upon the cross, in place of us,
Eternal life to win.

What greater gift could we receive
Than his abounding grace…
The promise that we will one day share
His presence face to face

I am a Married, Forgiven, Imperfect Follower of Christ. I am a recovered alcoholic (since July 12, 1999) and an ordained minister of the Gospel of Christ (since July 6, 2002). I have been saved from the grave (more then a few times) by the loving hand of the God and Father of our Lord, Christ Jesus. My heart's desire is to meet the needs of others with the love of Christ as he directs and enables me to do so.
