Always

And be sure of this: “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” –Matthew 28:20 NLT

Have you ever given any consideration to the fact that Jesus is always there with you, throughout every moment of your life? No matter where you are, no matter where you go, no matter what you do (or don’t do) Jesus is always there with you.

Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?  If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.  If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,  Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.
Psalm 139:7-10 (NKJV)

He sees our every action and inaction. He hears everything we say, including every careless word.

 I tell you, on the day of judgment men will render account for every careless word they utter;
Matthew 12:36 (RSV)

He can do this because he is omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time: the omnipresent God). His spirit lives within us.

Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 3:16 (RSV)

What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will live in them and move among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2 Corinthians 6:16 (RSV)

Our Creator knows our every thought.

The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:5 (RSV)

And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off for ever.
1 Chronicles 28:9 (RSV)

The LORD, knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.
Psalm 94:11 (RSV)

You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
Psalm 139:2 (NLT)

But as for me, LORD, you know my heart. You see me and test my thoughts.
Jeremiah 12:3 (NLT)

Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he asked them, “Why do you have such evil thoughts in your hearts?
Matthew 9:4 (NLT)

But Jesus knew their thoughts, so he brought a little child to his side.
Luke 9:47 (NLT)

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Hebrews 4:12 (NLT)

He even knows our thoughts before we do.

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: At that time evil thoughts will come to your mind, and you will devise a wicked scheme.
Ezekiel 38:10 (NLT)

For a long time, I never gave this fact much thought. But I believe that everyone who does will be less apt to give in to their dark thoughts – knowing that the Light of God is always present. There is no secret thought, no secret sin. God sees all, hears all, and knows all about you and me.

Think about that long enough, and I bet you will find that to be one of the most helpful thoughts you could ever have. \o/
