Perhaps I should change my name to Ben Messin, as I am always messing around with something.
If you simply read my blog entries via the WordPress Reader, then you probably haven’t noticed that I’ve ‘been messing’ around with the layout of the Focused and Free website. I like having the ability to try out a new theme from time-to-time. I’m sure some folks may not appreciate it. I know when someone changes their website around, it can mess with me sometimes. So I’m hoping you like this new theme/layout. Just like with the previous theme, I will probably change some minor things occasionally; such as background images and colors. I really like keeping up with whatever the season currently is.
I really appreciate and enjoy the fact that I live in a geographic location that allows me to experience each season in its distinct fullness. From my reading of various Bible texts, I understand that there are no seasons, or nighttime, or mountains in heaven. No colorful sunrises or sunsets. None of the stuff that I love probably more than I should. Sometimes that gives me pause to consider… “If God made creation to be so beautiful, how can heaven be even more beautiful? I simply cannot imagine such a place being even more spectacular!”
The sun shall be no more your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you by night; but the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Your sun shall no more go down, nor your moon withdraw itself; for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of mourning shall be ended.
Isaiah 60:19-20 (RSV)
And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine upon it, for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light shall the nations walk; and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory into it, and its gates shall never be shut by day — and there shall be no night there; they shall bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. But nothing unclean shall enter it, nor any one who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Revelation 21:22-27 (RSV)
