SEP 3, 2017 – After a brief hiatus from the Internet, Focused and Free is back online with a new web hosting company, InMotion Hosting. They offer more security – among other great features – as part-and-parcel of their hosting package. Among those extra security measures, is a free, public SSL certificate. As such, our URL now begins with https, instead of http. This is just one of the many reasons InMotion Hosting is our new site host.

We also have a new tagline… “Faith-based recovery and spiritual growth in Christ”. Our former tagline was… “FOCUSED on the TRUTH that sets us FREE”. While both taglines are good, the new tagline seems to more adequately describe the intent, content, and aim of this website.

NOV 1, 2016 – Closed down the #livefocusedandfree Facebook page due to lack of traffic and participation. My Personal Facebook page is karldrhoads1. My Twitter page is @karldrhoads.

JUN 27, 2016 – Made the decision to remove the Recovered Alcoholics Archive section/category. The original articles have been archived are still available by following the link above. As I was re-posting them here, I was editing them for typos, grammar, and content. It got to the point that some of the articles required so much editing that too much content was being altered, so as to no longer be the original content; although the original message remained the same. Sort of like the difference between the KJV Bible translation and The Message.

DEC 1, 2011 – Major site update! Beginning with a new-look template, I am renewing my efforts to share my thoughts beyond recovery from addictive agents and compulsive-obsessive behaviors. My goal is to offer content with quality and substance; content that takes an in-depth look at the biblical principles of the 12-steps. Articles that will (hopefully) encourage you to move beyond “spiritual kindergarten” and into spiritual maturity, so that you can be…

“…like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” –Jeremiah 17:8 (cf; Psalm 1:3)
