The purpose of this website is to help people become and remain
"Focused on the Truth that sets us Free."
HELLO! My name is Karl and I am a recovered
alcoholic/addict. On January 1st, 2009, I celebrated nine years of sobriety. I could not have done
this on my own. It is only by the power and the grace of God that I can make such a claim. All the credit, all
the glory, belongs to God. And yes, when I say God, I am talking about God as he is revealed in the Scriptures
of the Judeo-Christian Bible. That is what this website is all about; recovery, restoration, and renewal,
in Christ.
In July of 1999, I made a decision to begin working the 12-Step program of recovery as outlined
in the "Big Book" of Alcoholics Anonymous. The "Big Book" led me back to the "Good Book"
and helped me to believe, know, and trust Yeshuah (Jesus) as my Lord and Savior. Without
the program of Alcoholics Anonymous, I probably would have died an alcoholic death; as did my step brother. I
firmly believe that had I not chosen to surrender to the One true God of ALL creation, I probably would
have died a slow, miserable death; full of remorse and self-pity.
Today I live free from the insanity that haunted me for almost 30 years. Today I have the
pleasure and the privilege to freely pass along what has freely been given to me. And I am not just talking
sobriety here. Rather, I am talking about applying the spiritual principles that were practiced by the founders and
pioneers of A.A. -- all of them being based upon a solid foundation of a living
and active faith in the Son of God.
It is my prayer that everyone who finds themselves unable to tame the beast within, will come to
know the Prince of Peace and release from all the pain and sorrow that for so long has been impossible to
overcome. It is my hope that every visitor to this site may discover what I (and thousands like me) have found --
the greatest treasure of all --a new life in Christ.
Whether or not you are involved in one of the various Anonymous Fellowships that uses the
12-Steps as a program of recovery, I invite you to look around this web site and freely apply whatever practical
and encouraging helps you find here.
Remember... "Nothing of great and lasting value ever comes easy."
Grace and peace,
Karl R
